Artist Gene Allen

Gene Allen who resides in Essexville, MI learned his craft at an early age, creating comic strips at 11 years old and winning cover art competitions in school. Gene completed a two-year course at the Bay-Arenac Skill Center earning him certification in graphic arts and design. For the last several years, he has applied his creative arts skills into freelance work creating logo designs for businesses and custom artwork for people and local music talent.

Focusing on caricatures, you can find him teaching this art to students both young and old, and upcoming venues as the Delta College Planetarium, Saginaw Valley State University, and Midland Creative Spirit Center. His easy to follow teaching style makes learning to create comic portraits fun for everyone.
